CASSANDRA THOMPSON holds an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wollongong. She is an Associate Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Cassie has experience in providing clinical assessment and treatment for children, adolescents and adults across private, hospital and community settings. She enjoys supporting and working with clients of all ages that may be experiencing a broad range of difficulties in areas including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, eating, interpersonal, stress, self-esteem and emotion regulation.  Cassie has a particular interest in long-standing personality difficulties, and has previously completed psychological research to investigate the relationships between impulsivity, feelings of emptiness and executive functioning in borderline personality disorder.

Cassie is compassionate and warm, and works collaboratively with each of her clients to develop a tailored treatment plan. Depending on what is most suitable, Cassie offers short-term treatment interventions or longer-term therapy.  In treatment, Cassie utilises a client-centred approach to draw upon a range of evidence-based therapy frameworks that best support her client’s needs.  These frameworks may include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as psychodynamic, attachment-focused and supportive psychotherapy.
