      HEIDI BRUMMERT LENNINGS holds a PhD, Master of Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours - Class 1) from Macquarie University. Heidi has trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, or Conduct Problems (MATCH-ADTC) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).


      Heidi has worked in Australia and internationally providing clinical assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults. She was a Clinical Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Effective Child Therapy, Judge Baker Children’s Center, an affiliate of the Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. She also has clinical experience from the McNally Lab, Department of Psychology, Harvard University. Heidi has worked in the Perinatal Mental Health team in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Oxford, UK. During her role as postdoctoral researcher she sought to improve treatment models for women who experienced depression during pregnancy and early parenting. She is empathic to the needs of new mothers, their babies and the issues around breastfeeding, depression, anxiety and the adjustment to parenthood.

      Heidi enjoys working with children and adults. She also has a particular interest in child anxiety and young children with challenging behaviour. Through sessions involving parents and children, Heidi aims to enhance the positive bond within the family unit. Heidi works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression and stress. She tailors clinical treatment to her clients by engaging in a collaborative framework to work towards treatment goals. Heidi is warm, empathic and passionate about helping her clients improve their quality of life.


      Heidi combines her research expertise to her psychological practice. She is an associate member of the Centre for Emotional Health, Macquarie University. She has lectured in Developmental Psychology at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). Heidi has published about family relationships and media violence in Journals such as Social Development, the International Journal of Behavioral Development, and the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. She has also published in The Wiley Handbook of Violence and Aggression. Heidi is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), and the Anxiety Practitioner's Network (APN). She is an associate member of the MCR at Oriel College, The University of Oxford.
