SOPHIA TRAN holds an Honours degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, both from the University of New South Wales. She is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and Anxiety Practitioners Network (APN).
In addition to her work at Southside Health and Wellbeing, Sophia also works at the University of Sydney Gambling Treatment and Research Unit where she provides treatment to problem gamblers and is involved in the development of an innovative cognitive-based treatment program. She also works with young people experiencing a range of challenges at headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation.
Sophia enjoys working with adolescents and adults with a broad range of concerns, including mood and anxiety, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, emotion regulation difficulties, problem gambling, life stress, adjustment difficulties to significant events, self-esteem, and longstanding patterns of thinking and behaviour.
Sophia provides a warm and supportive environment for clients to explore their difficulties, develop insight, and identify effective approaches to handling life’s challenges. Sophia integrates a range of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy.
