KAHALA DIXON holds a Graduate Diploma and Honours degree in Psychology from The University of Sydney, and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), Australian Psychologist Society (APS) and is also a Registered Nurse, graduating in a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Sydney, Technology.

Kahala has particular experience working with children with anxiety and their families, adolescents with eating disorders and families with obesity. She has undertaken psychological research in clinical areas including older adults with mood difficulties, dementia and cognitive concerns. Kahala has worked extensively in cardiology as a nurse with experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors.

Kahala has a particular interest in working with clients across the lifespan, particularly with individuals adjusting to physical illness, as well as families, couples and women with perinatal and postnatal mental health difficulties, within both short- and long-term therapy frameworks, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
