      LEANNE CLARKE holds an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of NSW and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She was appointed a Fellow of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) in recognition of her contribution to the profession.


      Leanne's work within the public and private health systems has provided her with experience in the assessment and treatment of adults experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, impulse control problems and relationship difficulties. Leanne has a particular interest in perinatal psychology and has worked with a Karitane day stay unit for families experiencing psychological difficulties associated with pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting. She has also worked across a range of settings providing clinical assessment, therapy and early intervention services for infants, children, adolescents and families experiencing emotional, behavioural and relational problems. 

      Leanne works within an integrative treatment framework, drawing on a range of therapy models, including Internal Family Systems Therapy, Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as psychodynamic, attachment-focused and supportive psychotherapy approaches.


      Leanne provides clinical supervision for clinical psychologists and other health practitioners across a range of areas, including general adult psychology, child and family psychology and perinatal psychology. 


      Leanne served as the inaugural Chair of the Allied and Community Health Council, South Eastern Sydney Medicare Local. She served as Director on the Central and Eastern Sydney Allied Health Network Board, a member organisation of the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN), and served on the CESPHN Clinical Advisory Council. Leanne was a Founding Board Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), working along with senior members of the profession from leading universities to achieve the missions of ACPA, which include promotion of the highest standards within the profession of clinical psychology in Australia. She served as Chair of the ACPA Medicare Taskforce, and as a Member of the ACPA Mentoring Program Committee, which has established a national framework for mentoring of new members of the clinical psychology profession. 

      Leanne was appointed by the Department of Health to the MBS Review Mental Health Reference Group (MHRG), as part of the government's review of the entire Medicare Benefits Schedule. The MHRG has made important recommendations for changes to the MBS psychological services items, to ensure that they are in line with current research, particularly regarding effective treatment dosage.
