Dr Matthew Davies BSc, MBBS, FRANZCP

Southside is now able to provide direct and prompt assistance to clients requiring psychiatric review and/or treatment. This new service will enable us to offer cohesive and well-coordinated care to our clients who benefit from receiving both psychological and psychiatric treatment.

Professional Background:

Dr Davies completed his medical training in 2001 at the University of Sydney. He has varied training experience including General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatry of Old Age, Forensic Psychiatry, Drug and Alcohol as well as research at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety Disorders (CRUfAD) at St Vincents Hospital, Darlinghurst with Prof Gavin Andrews. Currently Dr Davies works as Staff Specialist at Sutherland Hospital, and as Visiting Medical Officer at Wesley Private Hospital, Kogarah, and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

  • Pharmacological and psychological treatments of mood, psychotic and anxiety disorders
  • General adult psychiatry
  • Adolescent psychiatry (patients age 16 and over)
  • Perinatal psychiatry

Current hours: 2pm to 7pm Tuesdays

Management Plan <45 minutes $485 (rebate $377.60)

Cancellation Policy: At leat 48 hours notice is required to change or cancel appointments, or a cancellation fee will be charged. The cancellation fee is 100% of the full appointment fee for less than 24 hours notice, or 50% of the full fee for less than 48 hours notice. Medicare does not cover cancelled appointments.
